The Problem

A landlord of a small retail shop in Hull, East Yorkshire was in contact with us. He had a tenant who had substantial rent arrears who kept breaking payment arrangements.

The tenant had assets in the shop, but the landlord did not want to evict him at this stage. It was therefore decided to go down the route of CRAR, Commercial Rent Arrears Recovery.

After discussing this with the landlord the payment plan was agreed using a controlled goods agreement where the debt was secured on his goods.
